Tang's Chinese
Tucked away on 4 Parish Lane in the heart of Crystal Palace, Tang's Chinese has quietly earned its place as a go-to spot for takeaway lovers who crave bold flavors without the fuss of dine-in crowds. While it may not have wheelchair-accessible seating or car park amenities, that hasn’t stopped locals from making it their favorite dinner destination when the craving for classic Chinese dishes strikes hard-especially after dark.
What makes Tang's Chinese stand out from the sea of takeaways in London’s SE20 postcode? It’s the no-compromise attitude on flavor, portion size, and variety. If you’re someone who thrives on the comfort of a perfectly balanced Sweet and Sour Chicken, or gets excited over a generous plate of Chicken Vermicelli, you’re already halfway in love with the menu.
Let’s talk highlights. The Grilled Dumplings (6 pcs) come out with a satisfyingly crisp exterior, giving way to a savory, juicy center that’s dangerously addictive. Pair those with the Vegetable Spring Rolls (8 pcs) for a light, crunchy starter that veg-lovers and meat-eaters alike can enjoy. Both make excellent companions to a late-night Netflix binge or a casual dinner with friends at home.
For those seeking heartier fare, the Mongolian Beef and Pepper Beef are two dishes that really showcase the kitchen's skill with spices and searing techniques. The beef is tender, the sauces are rich without being greasy, and there’s just the right amount of heat to keep your taste buds curious. Then there’s the Chicken Chow Mein-a staple that Tang’s elevates with a smoky wok hei flavor, noodles that stay firm, and a protein-to-veggie ratio that actually makes sense.
Seafood fans? The King Prawn Vermicelli is a strong contender. Plump prawns, delicate rice noodles, and a sauce that walks the line between sweet, savory, and aromatic-this dish hits all the right notes without overpowering the fresh flavor of the prawns. Meanwhile, if you're feeling adventurous, Jambalaya surprisingly makes an appearance-an unexpected but welcome fusion that delivers bold Southern spice with a Chinese twist.
Tang’s also caters to the night owls and weekend warriors. With late-night food and quick bite options, it serves as an ideal pitstop after a long shift or night out. Whether you’re digging into a full dinner spread or just grabbing dessert, the experience is designed to be fuss-free but satisfying.
While there’s no dine-in option, the delivery service is consistently praised for being quick and reliable. Orders arrive warm, well-packed, and in good time-which is a big win when you’re hungry and hangry.
In terms of ambiance, what it lacks in physical presence, it makes up for in convenience and comfort. Tang’s lets you enjoy restaurant-style Chinese food without stepping out of your cozy evening routine. Think of it as your go-to flavor fix, with no dress code or table wait.
So if you’re browsing for Chinese takeaway Crystal Palace, Chinese food delivery SE20, or just can’t get Sweet and Sour Pork out of your mind, Tang’s Chinese is probably the answer you didn’t know you needed. The menu is broad, the execution is confident, and the quality-to-price ratio makes it a smart choice any day of the week.

Delicious food and quantity of food is amazing chef is very nice and humble person.Vegetarian options: Thank you..
Have been using this takeaway now for months and have found the food to be very delicious and tasty was a bit worried after reading some reviews but I use pancake rolls as a barometer it is hard nowadays to find a homemade pancake roll instead of the pre-made Wing Yip rubbish spring rolls you get from nearly every other place. Everything I have ordered has been freshly made and very tasty would definitely recommend.
Love Tangs! They're my go to and have been for many years - my friend who moved out of Beckenham says the places near her now just can't compete.Angus also says thank you for the prawn crackers - he's a big fan!
